Laura B. Asplund, O.D.

Dr. Laura Asplund, a North Dakota native, joined Kentucky Eye Care in 2024. She graduated from North Dakota State University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Dr. Asplund then attended Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. During her training, Dr. Asplund completed externships in Amarillo, TX; Lawton, OK; and Mililani, HI. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2018. Dr. Asplund practiced in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN prior to relocating to Louisville, KY to be closer to her husband’s family.

Dr. Asplund’s focus is on comprehensive eye care and patient education. She takes pride in helping her patients see the best they can and educating them on their eye health. She is available for vision exams, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma management, contact lens fittings (including gas permeable and specialty contact lenses), emergency red eye evaluations, and non-surgical treatment of many eye conditions. Dr. Asplund is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Kentucky Optometric Association.

In her free time, Dr. Asplund enjoys exploring her new hometown, spending time with her family, attending sporting events, and hanging out with her cat. She is currently accepting new patients at our Shepherdsville and Springs Medical Center locations.
